英语fit和suit区别是什么？

一、词义辨析不一样

1、suit则着重指颜色、款式、色调方面的合适。如：

The suit fitted her nicely.这身衣服她穿正合适。

2、fit在用于衣着、鞋帽等场合下的“适合”时，指的是大小、形状、宽松方面。

This dress is a beautiful fit.这件衣服既合身又漂亮。

二、词义广泛性不一样

在上一句里suit和fit不能互换，因为由上可知fit只指“尺码大小合脚，合身”等，而suit指“衣服、颜色、发型等相搭配”。如下句：

（2）作形容词时be fit for 与 be suitable for 可互换。

The job is not fit / suitable for me.
